A website that keeps working after launch
Website maintenance is the routine work that keeps a site safe and working after launch: updates, backups and regular checks on forms and speed. Small problems that nobody notices in time, such as a contact form that stops sending or an expired SSL certificate, cost you enquiries. Most of this work is invisible when it goes well, which is exactly the point.
With monthly maintenance we check the site regularly, apply updates, take backups and keep an eye on security, where the hosting allows it. We also look at what matters commercially: forms, call buttons, WhatsApp and conversion tracking. Before each update we take a backup, so any problem can be rolled back quickly, and domain and hosting renewals are tracked so nothing expires by surprise.
We make the small content changes we have agreed, and at the end of each month you receive a short report on what was checked, what was fixed and what we recommend next. We work with WordPress sites and custom-built sites, remotely and in English. If you need something bigger, such as a new page or a redesigned section, we quote it separately before starting.
Maintenance makes the most sense for sites that bring in enquiries every week: clinics, service businesses, small shops or sites linked to paid campaigns. For them, a few days with a broken form or a site that is down means lost customers and ad budget spent for nothing. Regular checks cost less than a problem discovered late, and the monthly report shows clearly what has been done and what is worth improving.
What maintenance prevents
Forms that stop sending
We test them regularly, so that no enquiry gets lost in a broken form or a spam folder.
Security problems
Updates are applied on time, and there are recent backups you can actually restore from.
A slow site
We monitor speed on mobile and fix whatever slows it down, from heavy images to unused plugins.
Pages dropping out of Google
We spot indexing errors, broken links and wrong redirects in Search Console early.
Expired renewals
We keep an eye on SSL certificates and remind you before the domain or hosting renewal is due.
What monthly website maintenance includes
- Regular technical checks: uptime, errors and the SSL certificate
- Updates to the platform, theme and plugins, with testing afterwards
- Regular backups and restore checks, where the hosting allows it
- Monitoring of forms, call buttons and WhatsApp
- Checks that conversion tracking in GA4 still works
- Technical SEO reviews: new pages, indexing errors and redirects
- Small content changes, within the agreed limit
- A monthly report with what was done and the next priorities
How we take over maintenance
Access
We receive the access we need to hosting, the domain and the site, and take a first full backup.
Initial audit
We list what needs fixing straight away and what can wait for the regular monthly checks.
Monthly checklist
We agree what is checked every month and how many content changes are included.
Monitoring
We follow uptime, errors, forms and indexing, so problems are caught before customers notice them.
Updates and changes
We apply updates after a backup and make the content changes you request.
Report
You receive a short summary of the month, with what was fixed and our recommendations.
Why a website needs maintenance
Updates and security
Platforms, themes and plugins receive security updates regularly. A site that is never updated becomes an easy target for automated attacks, and a compromised site can be flagged by Google as unsafe, which scares visitors away. We apply updates in a controlled way, after a backup, and check that the site still works properly after each one, so an update never quietly breaks a page.
Forms and tracking that can break
An update, a server change or an email setting can stop a form from sending without anyone noticing for weeks. We test forms, call buttons and WhatsApp regularly and check that conversion events still appear in GA4, so your reports and your ad campaigns keep working with accurate data rather than guesses. If something stops, you hear about it from us, not from a customer.
Small, steady improvements
Maintenance is not only about repairs. Each month we can update prices, add a project, correct a page or improve the speed of a slow page. Small improvements, added up over months, make a real difference to indexing and to the number of enquiries the site brings, without the cost of a full redesign every few years.
Questions about website maintenance
Does maintenance include content changes?
Yes, within the limit agreed at the start. For new pages or larger structural changes we send a separate proposal.
Do you maintain WordPress sites built by someone else?
Yes. We start with an audit and a backup, so we know the state of the site before making any changes.
What happens if the site goes down?
We find the cause and either restore from a backup or fix the problem. The response time is set out in the maintenance agreement.
How much does website maintenance cost?
Maintenance is quoted after the free audit, depending on the platform, the size of the site and how often it changes. Monthly maintenance and optimisation are included in the Premium package, from €1,399.
How often do you take backups?
It depends on how often the site changes. A brochure site needs fewer backups than a site with daily bookings or orders. We also check regularly that backups can be restored.
Can I cancel the maintenance plan?
The terms are set in the maintenance agreement. When it ends, you receive your access details, the latest backup and a list of what to keep an eye on, so you or another provider can take over without interruption.
